Twilight

"About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him-- and I didn't know how dominant that part might be-- that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."

Summary

Isabella "Bella" Swan moves to the small wet town of Forks, Washington to be with her father, Chief Charlie Swan. Living in a small town has it's disadvantages and that includes being the talk of the town, being the newcomer. Bella tries her best to make friends while not attracting too much attention. While attending Forks High School, Bella meets Edward Cullen. There's something mysterious about Edward that draws Bella to him. Edward, however, seems to be angry with Bella for some odd reason that she can't figure out. After some time, Edward cools down and the two become closer. Much to Edward's warnings, Bella finds out Edward and his family are vegetable vampires who drink animal blood instead of humans. Everything seems calm and peaceful until a group of three vampires come into town and one of them has a thirst for Bella's blood.
Opinions from the Webmistress

For hardcore Harry Potter fans, this routine will be not new to you. Twilight follows the same routine. It's a 4 volume series that has become extremely popular, especially to teens. It's sold millions worldwide and is popular enough to have midnight release parties at big books stores like Borders (The last book was released Aug 2, 2008). Following the HP suit, the series is going to be turned into a movie come this fall. I will be the first to admit that I have had a countdown on my computer for the movie premier since I got hooked on books. I first started reading the books because I watched the trailer for the movie. Let me be the first to say that the teaser trailers do not do the book much justice. I got hooked very quickly on the books very VERY quickly. ^^; I actually got a co-worker mad at me. I gave her the first book and she read well into the morning on a week night....meaning she had to be up early the next morning for work. ^^;;; Whoops. What I'm trying to say is, read the book before you judge anything. It's an easy read, but with a great plot. In fact, I think that's the reason why it was so popular with the teens.

On a side note, Harry Potter fans may recognize Robert, who plays Edward Cullen, also plays in Goblet of Fire as Cedric Diggory. Surprised? I was. At least now Robert gets to play a character that lasts longer than on movie. ^_~

Read the series? Seen the trailer? What do you think?
